Hello there, I am Gerrit!

During my studies in Digital Humanities 👾 I've learned a lot about user requirements and developer needs. So I'm always oscillating between the best way to resolve a user's need and to create the most adorable code, which in my belief is also some kind of poetry. In the age of AI-slop 🤖 even more so.

I'm also trying to keep up with all the new technologies in development, especially with a focus on accessibility and modern design. The Internet is for everyone and it should feel that way!

During my time at an agency, I came in contact with a lot of B2B & B2C clients and their clients' needs as well as with the needs of people in an agile working environment.

Currently I'm working at the German insurer BarmeniaGothaer with a focus on UI & UX in the sales funnels and on the big picture of a large corporate environment.

Together with my dearest friend Daniel Schwingenheuer I've founded ecumio, a place where I also work as a freelance developer and consultant, supporting teams from the first ideas to a usable & accessible product that people actually like to interact with.
